Absent during the health crisis linked to Covid-19, the Fête de la Musique returns to the streets of downtown Angers (Maine-et-Loire) this Tuesday, June 21, from 7 p.m.
Since when had it not taken place in Angers?
Since 2020, she had disappeared in Angers. The health crisis linked to Covid-19 had indeed forced the authorities to cancel the event.
In 2020, the city of Angers had maintained the festivities virtually thanks to the organization of a concert at the Grand Théâtre, prohibited to the public, but broadcast on the Internet, and in bars and restaurants in the city center. In 2021, the prefecture banned outdoor gatherings.
What are the different concerts planned?
For the return of the Fête de la Musique, the city of Angers did not wish to set up an official selection. A call for participation was nevertheless launched to musicians, singers and dancers, in order to “make the heart of the city resonate”according to the city.
In total, around 700 musicians are expected to perform in the streets. Electro concerts were to take place in the Saint-Serge district. The Town’s wind band performs at the kiosk in the Mail garden.
Will it be possible to circulate normally?
For the occasion, traffic will be prohibited to all motorized vehicles in the city center. “From 7 p.m. until 2 a.m., in a large area of the city center, bounded by Maine and boulevards de Gaulle, du Roi-René, Foch and Carnot, as well as in part of Doutre. Access to boulevard Foch will be closed from 8 p.m. , indicates the city.
