Last meeting of the 13th day of the Premier League this Monday with a clash between West Ham and Bournemouth, respectively 17th and 13th in the English championship, in the lair of the Hammers. The first period was quite dull and did not give rise to a single hot situation until at least added time. While Marcos Senesi conceded the corner, the ball was poorly cleared by the visitors’ defense on the latter and Tomas Soucek put the ball back in the box for Kurt Zouma who could finish skillfully with a header in the skylight (45th + 1, 1-0 ). In the process, the VAR leaned on this achievement of the French for a hand of Thilo Kherer during the scramble in the surface before the goal of Kurt Zouma. The referee, Mr. David Coote, did not flinch and granted the opener to the Hammers.
Returning from the locker room, David Moyes’ players were frightened by retreating more and more in the face of repeated attacks from Marcus Tavernier’s teammates. But a few minutes before added time, Vladimír Coufal tried to send a cross that Jordan Zemura blocked with the hand at the edge of the penalty area. After the intervention of the VAR, the penalty was logically granted to the Hammers and Saïd Benrahma was responsible for converting the sentence (90th + 1, 2-0). With this victory, West Ham move up seven places and find themselves 10th while Bournemouth loses a place and is therefore 14th in the Premier League. On the next day, the Hammers will go to Old Traffort to challenge Manchester United. For their part, the Cherries will face Tottenham at home.
