Wasps soon to be relegated? – The Team

Worcester are not the only professional club in the English Premier League to experience serious financial problems. A journalist from Telegraph revealed on Wednesday that Wasps, a club which was twice European champion in 2004 and 2007 and which has been based in Coventry since 2014, was in serious financial difficulty with a debt attributed to more than 40 million euros.

An administrator was appointed on Wednesday to try to find a solution, but the rules of the Rugby Football Union are very clear, and a club that calls on an administrator during the season must be compulsorily and immediately relegated. The leaders explained at the beginning of September that they were in advanced discussions with a creditor. But to date, nothing has been signed.
