The new director of the CHU of Guadeloupe expected firmly

Wind up and without delay, the day after the appointment of the new director of the University Hospital Center of Guadeloupe (CHUG), the collective of suspended caregivers demands their reinstatement. A press conference was organized at Bik yesterday.

The collective of organizations fighting against the vaccination obligation includes a press conference, Tuesday August 2, 2022, on the Bike of the Guadeloupe University Hospital Center (CHUG). The activists took stock of their protest movement and the ongoing mobilization.

It’s been a year since ” the suspended ones » denounce the legality of the vaccination obligation, a measure accepted by the law of August 5, 2021, on « health crisis management “.

The law promulgated last July 30 expressly repeals, from 1uh August 2022, the provisions of the Public Health Code relating to the state of health emergency “. But concerning the nursing staff suspended, because not vaccinated against Covid-19, the situation remains frozen: no reinstatement, said the Government; it will be up to the High Authority for Health to decide.

Be that as it may, one claim remains intact on the side of the activists mobilized before the CHUG: it is the reinstatement of all the suspended caregivers. The trade unions also demand the payment of all unpaid wages, as part of this sanction granted to hospital staff who have refused the vaccine.

Negotiations on this file are already looking very complicated between the collective, the unions and the new director of the CHU, Eric Guyader, who must now take office on September 15.
The mobilized personnel remain firm. They also claim compensation, in particular for the damage suffered.

There will be no state of grace for the new director of the CHU “, announces Gaby Clavier, UTS-UGTG-CHU section secretary, who recalls that the administration has made a mistake, by illegally suspending unvaccinated personnel:

Gaby Clavier: “They are going to pay our salaries and asked us for €50,000 per person suspended in a violent, arbitrary and illegal manner”.

For Gaby Clavier, the newly appointed leader arrives at a hospital in great difficulty, due to a situation replaced by his who, according to him, has despised trade union rights, caregivers and the hospital institution. The trade unionist recalls that the debts (social and supplier) of the establishment are colossal, while the human and material resources are reduced to a trickle.

Gaby Clavier: “This gentleman arrives in a hospital on land”.

According to the Collective of Organizations in Struggle, one in three nursing practices is closed for non-vaccination.
Michel Gérant, liberal nurse, deplores this situation, which has changed Guadeloupe a little more from a medical desert. A worrying reality, when we know the rate of people subject to comorbidities, locally.

Michel Gérant: “Guadeloupe is in health danger! »

The hour of appeasement does not yet seem to want to dawn.
