Six dogs, locked in an abandoned house in Marseille, were rescued by the Society for the Protection of Abused and Stray Animals (SPAME) last Thursday, informed BFM Marseille Provence.

This intervention took place when six other dogs abandoned on a roof had already been rescued safe and sound on July 26, in the 11th arrondissement. SPAME was alerted on Thursday that the owner of the house where these dogs had been found had another home in town.

“A house littered with excrement and urine”

Accompanied by two judicial police officers, the president of the association went around 9 a.m. to the second address of the individual, who had not been the subject of legal proceedings despite a complaint filed. The previous facts had been considered animal neglect and not abuse.

“The dogs lived in a house littered with excrement and urine. The smell is unbearable”, describes the president of SPAME.

“We discovered a dog that lived 24 hours a day in a small corridor without ever seeing the day, it’s the horror. They are fearful but happy to breathe fresh air and finally see the day”, explains the latter.

SPAME has decided to file a complaint again. The dogs were taken care of by the association.
