The catastrophic start to the season for the women’s section within its Division 2 group will not go unchallenged. After the defeat at Lens (0-1) this weekend, the sixth in as many matches, coach Mathieu Ricoul was fired.
To succeed him, the leaders of FC Nantes have opted for a former member of the club, Oswaldo Vizcarrondo (38 years old). The former Venezuelan international defender (83 caps) played 137 games with the Canaries between 2013 and 2017, before ending his career at Troyes the following two years. The one who was nicknamed “el Patron” signed for one year and another as an option.
For two years, he had been assistant to another former player of the Yellow House, Eddy Capron, at Sautron, a club on the outskirts of Nantes.
