More than 50 dogs seized from an abusive owner near Toulouse

more than one fifty dogs saved from hell. The veterinary services of the Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations of Haute-Garonne noted, on September 21, 2022, the presence of 53 dogs, including 7 puppies, held in appalling conditions in a man living in Beaumont-sur-Lèze (Haute-Garonne).

In a press release, the public prosecutor of Toulouse Samuel Vuelta-Simon details these conditions: 21 dogs in three different enclosures, 2 dogs chained, 6 in a truck6 in a prefabricated module, 6 in two caravans and the rest in the open air, including the 7 puppies.

First warning at the end of 2021

DDPP 31 had already checked the individual’s home at the end of last year. He was then in possession “of a gifted dog, whose number was only growing, who were kept in conditions that did not allow them to meet their basic needs” indicates the prosecutor of the Republic of Toulouse. Informed about these conditions, he declares at the time “to comply with regulations”what he did not do.

The owner was presented Thursday, September 22 before the public prosecutor. He was given a 10-year suspended prison sentence with a ban on keeping an animal for 12 months. The SPA took care of all the dogs. They will be offered for adoption.
