Montigny-en-Gohelle: dog sledding, climbing, zip line… it’s the return of Outdoor Days

Created by the sports department in 2018, the Outdoor Days did not escape the waves of cancellations in 2020 and 2021. They deserve this weekend for a third edition embellished with new features.

Making Montigny residents want to try new sports activities, in the open air, and why not with the family, is the philosophy of Outdoor Days. This event had been imagined in 2018 by the sports department of the town hall and had gained momentum from the second edition in 2019. Like countless festive events, it did not take place in 2020 or 2021. But the third edition finally arrives, this weekend.

Small train

The appointment is always given on the side of the swimming pool. First novelty: it will be possible to get there by… small tourist train! This will pass through the Plaine du 7 and the ZAC des Deux-Villes. A good way to avoid the car!

Nearly twenty activities will be offered between the swimming pool car park and the lake. As in 2018 and 2019, thanks to the mobilization of associations, there will be sled dogs, a tree climbing course, climbing, fishing, kayaking, pony rides (non-exhaustive list). Another novelty to note: a zip line 100 meters long for a descent of 8 meters above the ground. Finally, and this too is new, it is no longer necessary to book. Just show up for activities and wait your turn.

This Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., swimming pool car park, rue Émile-Zola, and lake leisure center. Free. Food truck on site.
