Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka positive for Covid-19 and package with Germany

The France team will not be the only ones to be deprived of executives for the League of Nations matches this week. Germany recorded the withdrawals of goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and midfielder Leon Goretzka on Wednesday.

The two Munich residents tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss the matches played on Friday at home against Hungary (8:45 p.m.), then next Monday in England (8:45 p.m.)

Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann has been called up to replace Neuer in the squad. Further call-ups are expected to be announced later, the German Football Association said.

The Germans, currently second (6 points) in their group, behind Hungary (7 points), will take advantage of these two clashes to refine their preparation, two months before the start of the World Cup in Qatar (November 20-December 18) .
