The Kélonia team received several photos this weekend of a mating of sea turtles observed off Saint-Gilles.
“The two breeders are known”, indicates the care center. “The female is Emma, so she seems to have recovered from her injury caused last June”and “the male is Valentin, already photographed mating with Minus 6 years ago”.
The greatest vigilance remains in order
“We ask sea users to be vigilant when sailing, matings can reproduce and last for several hours, causing the turtles to be not very mobile and THEREFORE VERY SENSITIVE TO THE RISK OF COLLISION”Kelonia warns.
