At the Kerlaouena nursing home in Relecq-Kerhuon, the confinement linked to covid-19 had stimulated the creativity of the agents, facilitators and residents. Hence the creation of a greenhouse and planting boxes, at an adequate level for the residents.
This dynamic continues now with, in addition, the support of volunteers from the association “Les Amis de la Résidence Kerlaouena”. This Thursday, October 20, 2022, new residents arrived at the residence: three little hens.
“In front of the dining room windows”
“They are installed in front of the building, opposite the windows of the dining room. Thus, all residents could benefit from their presence. They will be fed by residents and volunteers,” says Gwen André, the director. And she adds: “The enclosure in which the hens will live was made by the technical agent of the residence, and the chicken coop was integrated by two residents and a facilitator”.
The presence of these hens also goes in the direction of the process already carried out with the psychologist: she goes regularly with residents to Guerrus, an equestrian center, for equine therapy.
