Brest surprises Clermont, Lorient and Strasbourg takes a point at Troyes and Toulouse

At the top of the table, Lorient equalized twice to take a point on the field of Troyes (2-2). Losing 0-2 on the hour mark, Strasbourg snatched a draw from Toulouse, reduced to ten (2-2).

Deprived of Kalulu, Abergel and Moffi, the FCL (3rd) gets stuck a little. Held in check by Reims last week (0-0), he took a single point at Troyes (2-2). In the fight with Mama Baldé on a cross, Laporte scored against his camp (34th). In the second period, Talbi gave a ball back full ax for … Rony Lopes (61st). But the Hakes have resources and they equalized twice. First on a magnificent raid from Diarra (50th), who took advantage of the conservation of the 4-2-3-1 system. Then on a nice curled shot from the incoming Boisgard (81st). The Aubois, who have won one match in the last seven, benefit from the very loan rhythm of the relegated teams…

Reims and Brest are doing good

Among them, Reims and Brest still won. After three draws, the Rémois won their first victory at home this season against a weak team from Auxerre (2-1). For his 400th in L1, Benoît Costil was saved by his post (77th) but he was above all very good in the goal of AJA. Balogun still beat him in the 29th and Ito gave his team the three points on a second ball (87th). Meanwhile, Niang had equalized with a header, on a serve from Sakhi (33′). Reorganized into 4-2-3-1 due to absences (Gravillon, Agbadou, Munetsi, Foket, Busi…), Will Still’s men are in 14th place.

First relegated, Brest largely won at Clermont, granted a big surprise (3-1). A match that bore the seal of Romain Del Castillo. Holder for the third time in a row, he opened the score from the penalty spot (15th) before serving Honorat (54th) and Le Douaron (68th). The Bretons, organized in 4-3-3 with Camara rather than Belkebla or Magnetti, had many situations but Diaw was still solid and was even saved by his post (7th). The penultimate defense of L1 was rarely threatened by Auvergnats quickly deprived of Gonalons, even if Allevinah saved the local honor at the end of the meeting (89th).

Strasbourg leaves the red zone

A week after sinking at home against Lille (0-3), Racing snatched a point from Toulouse (2-2). Still organized in a 5-3-2 which produces few chances, the Alsatians conceded two goals signed Rouault (close following a corner from van den Boomen, 44th) and Dejaegere (served by Desler, 55th) . Enough to represent a huge anger from Matz Sels, still very good in front of Aboukhlal (28th, 29th, 69th) and Rouault (42nd).

Stéphan’s coaching was good in Toulouse. (N. Luttiau/The Team)

But Julien Stéphan’s coaching on the hour mark did some good: Pierre-Gabriel, Aholou and Mothiba transformed the game. The South African striker, whose in-laws were bereaved a few days ago, reduced the mark on a cross from the former Brest defender. He then obtained a penalty and the (severe) expulsion of Nicolaisen. Gameiro then equalized, in two stages. In added time, Rouault kicked Le Marchand in the leg, who was about to attack the ball in front of goal. After video arbitration, M.Stinat was not awarded a penalty, to the great fury of the visitors, who nevertheless left the red zone before receiving OM on Saturday (9 p.m.).
