A cat belonging to residents of Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry (Seine-et-Marne) was found dead on a sidewalk in the city this Sunday. The corpse of the 4-year-old animal named Nyara was discovered by a neighbor opposite the accommodation of his masters. The feline had been decapitated, report The Republic of Seine-et-Marne. His queue had also been cut.
The veterinarian who examined the cat’s body also noted the presence of two disemboweling wounds. The specialist indicated that Nyara’s death was due to human intervention. The decapitation was indeed carried out neatly with a sharp object.
Fine of up to 75,000 euros
The owners of the cat, aged 24 and 25, want to file a complaint for serious abuse and cruelty to a domestic animal. The Bardot Foundation has announced its intention to file a civil action. The author or authors incur a prison sentence of up to five years and a fine of up to 75,000 euros.
