a cat found decapitated and its tail cut in the street

The owners of the animal have decided to file a complaint following this act of barbarism undoubtedly perpetrated by a human.

A crime as cowardly as it is cruel. A few days after losing their 4-year-old cat, a couple of young people living in Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry went from fear to horror. This Sunday, July 31, one of their neighbors has indeed found on a sidewalk the lifeless body of the animal, visibly the victim of despicable mutilations.

As La République de Seine-et-Marne reports, the feline was indeed “decapitated” and its tail was “also severed”. The local daily also mentions “two disemboweling wounds” presented on the right side of the animal. According to the veterinarian who examined the corpse, these injuries were undoubtedly caused by a human, most likely “with a sharp blade”.

“You can’t do that to a living being!”

Devastated by this abominable act, the couple decided to file a complaint. “I would like us to find the culprit or culprits, explains the owner of the deceased cat, quoted by La République de Seine-et-Marne. It is an unthinkable act of barbarism. We cannot do this to a be alive! I’m going to contact the town hall to ask them to put cameras in the street. Last October, two of my neighbor’s cats were found with their throats slit, with their legs crossed.”

An investigation has therefore been opened to try to get hold of the perpetrator(s) of this crime, which incurs up to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of 75,000 euros, under a law promulgated in November 2021. “We would like the investigation to bear fruit, commented the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, which filed a civil action. This is shocking but the beheading of cats is unfortunately not a first in France .”
